Camille Desmoulins at the Palais Royal

Desmoulins, born in 1760, was a journalist and politician who was a prominent figure in the French Revolution. He was a childhood friend of Maximilien Robespierre and a close friend and political ally of Georges Danton, both of whom were influential men in the French Revolution. Desmoulins was tried and executed in April 1794, along with Danton, as a result of opposition to the Committee of Public Safety.
