Newspaper obituary:

"Private Ernest Wormald, Lancashire Fusiliers, of 114 Moorhey Street, Oldham, was killed on July 7th. He enlisted in September 1914, and had been at the front for over twelve months. He was one of the stretcher bearers of his battalion. He was home on furlough five weeks ago. He was aged 25 years, and was a single man."
