Newspaper obituary:

"Notification has been received that Corporal Thomas Meyers, Border Regiment, of 48 Street Street, Hollinwood, was killed in action in France on July 1st. He enlisted on January 2nd 1915, and before he enlisted he lived at Hindley, working as a collier for Messrs Crompton and Shawcross. He was 31 years of age and leaves a widow and two children"
