Newspaper obituary:

"Mr William Hallworth, station master at Greenfield, on Saturday was officially informed that his son, Private Arthur Hallworth, had been killed in action. The deceased soldier, who was a joiner, enlisted in on the City battalions of the Manchester Regiment on 30th November last, and went to France on April 13th. He was 29 years of age. His battalion was one of the first to participate in the big offensive, and the official intimation states that he was killed on July 1st. "
