"Private Willie Thomas, of the Manchester Regiment was killed in action on 1st July 1916. He was 21 years old, and lived with his parents at 173 Littlemoor Lane, Oldham, up to his being called up under the group system in February last. He had been at the front ten week. Before joining the colours he was a piecer at Mr R. Fitton's Watersheddings Mill. "
