Newspaper obituary:

"The parents of Private A. Flint, Manchester Pals, have received a letter from Rev. C. W. Smith, Roman Catholic chaplain, stating that their son was killed in France on July 1st and that he died a hero and in the cause of justice. Flint enlisted in November, 1914, and before joining the army was employed at Mather and Platt's works as a clerk. He was 21 years of age, resided at 10, Jackson-street, Failsworth, and was a teacher at Lightbourne Evangelical School, Moston.."
