Newspaper obituary:

"Corporal George Adamson (6628), King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment, was killed in action on July 1st. Adamson was 36 years of age, married, but with no family, his wife residing at 42, Mitchell-street, Oldham. He formerly worked at Messrs. Platt Bros., New Works as a roller turner, but was called up as a reservist on the outbreak of war, and, after surviving for nearly two years, he has fallen in the service of his country."
