… A young man belonging to the Baptist Church, Pitt-street, Oldham, claimed exemption on conscientious grounds. His name is Frank Hoyle and he lives in Norbury-street
Councillor Schofield: You and I have lived in this country for so long and have been saved from attack by any enemy. We ought to think of our responsibilities in return for that security.
The applicant was put into the non-combatant section for service. He has a brother in the army.
